✔️ Curcumin is the yellow active natural polyphenol herb Curcuma longa also known as turmeric. Curcumin has traditionally been used for decades in Chinese Medicine & Ayurveda as a medicinal herb for its anti-inflammatory, anti-mutagenic, anti-microbial and anti-cancer properties. It has many therapeutic benefits and in particular it is highly effective in treating inflammatory illness as it modulates signalling pathways. Fibroids arise due to a cell to cell miscommunication (stem cell). Pharmacologically, curcumin has been demonstrated to suppress the growth of tumour cell lines, and  fibroids are benign tumours. It also specifically targets cytokines and growth factors. You can add fresh tumeric to your latte, curcumin spice to your foods or take a practitioner grade curcumin supplement.

✔️ Resveratrol has gained popularity over the last few years for its role in chronic disease. It contains polyphenolic compounds called stilbenes, found in peanuts, grapes and certain berries. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-tumour and immunomodulatory effects. In several studies, resveratrol has been shown to induce apoptosis in several human cancer cell lines – including thyroid, prostate and cancer cells. Resveratrol can inhibit estrogen dependant cancer growth and uterine fibroid proliferation (growth). At Angea we love Resveratrol for Fibroids, Endo & PCOS.

✔️ Green tea extract and Vitamin D has been shown to inhibit uterine leiomyoma cell growth in-vitro and in-vivo. Green tea extract resulted in a significant reduction in the mean size of uterine fibroids among women of later reproductive age, according to a recent study. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), the major catechin in green tea, exhibits positive biological effects, including anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative, and antioxidant effects. Vitamin D decreases levels of proteins known to contribute to fibroid formation and inhibits the replication of fibroid cells (Halder 2013, Sharan 2011).
