How Does Acupuncture Actually Increase Fertility?

Let me share with you the many positive benefits of acupuncture. Acupuncture is older than my grandparents, in fact it can be traced back thousands of years!

Acupuncture works by the insertion of fine needles into acu-points through the layers of the skin (epidermis and dermis) subcutaneous tissue and muscle. Each of these layers contain information, structures and cells that respond to needling.
Acupuncture points run along 12 meridians (fascia), these acupuncture points are connected to nerve trunks, nerve branches, nerve plexuses and in the walls of blood vessels. Visualise your body as information highway!

Similar to a neuro-transmitter, the needle sends a response (qi or pizzo-electricity) to the CNS. The body cross talks between the neuro-endorine, nervous and immune system and delivers a positive feedback response to the targeted cell (Acu-point) to reach the desired outcome.

The effects of Acupuncture for fertility have been shown to:

❤️ Acupuncture regulates the HPA (hypothalamus Pituarity Adrenal axis) regulating the stress response, cortisol parasympathetic/sympathetic nervous system & HPO (hypothalamus Pituarity Ovarian) supporting endocrine function
❤️ Acupuncture may help regulate hormone levels, specifically gonadotropin-releasing hormone, which in turn may improve ovulation rates.
❤️ Some studies suggest that acupuncture of any kind (not just fertility-specific acupuncture) may increase live birth rates in patients doing IVF treatment. Others demonstrate that it helps ease fertility-related stress and anxiety.
❤️ Acupuncture influences your endocrine system helping to regulate your hormones and sporadic periods. Controlling irregular menstruation will enable you to better pin-point when you’re most fertile
❤️ Let’s not forget about the men! Separate studies have shown that acupuncture can increase sperm count and sperm motility, producing stronger swimmers!
❤️In conjunction with IVF, studies have shown using Doppler imaging, acupuncture increases blood flow to the reproductive organs and pelvis!
❤️ Acupuncture increases the release of beta-endorphins, reducing stress!
