Mix it up Monday’s is back. We will be sharing with you lots of nutritious, delicious recipes that will inspire you and create a catalyst for change in your body. We want to help create balance in your body with foods that heal and nourish. Today, we share a recipe from Shannele Newbery that helps create balance with your hormones.

Hormones play a huge part in female physiology, sometimes more than we expect. Hormones can affect us on an emotional level, physical level and mental level. You know the times when you are feeling a little crazy and out of sorts. I can guarantee you, its your hormones causing havoc. Everything we do from sleep to exercise to eating effects the balance of endocrine system otherwise known as our hormones.

What was your catalyst for change?

After a traumatic health scare related to my womanhood, I decided it was time to start nourishing, listening to & loving my body from the inside out… So I overhauled it all, (Diet, lifestyle, career, exercise, and spiritual practice) I also changed my approach to food and how I prepared it, A love affair some would say began for creating delicious wholefood recipes to nourish and satisfy my body in order to create a life where I could be the healthiest version of myself.

I have always been passionate about empowering and supporting women to practice self-love and self-care to improve their relationship with themselves and their bodies.

What big changes did you notice in your body from changing the way you eat and looking after yourself ?

As a result of my own health journey, I have balanced my hormones, which means no more crazy mood swings, painful periods, headaches, migraines, and skin breakouts. I have eliminated allergies and symptoms such as asthma, hay fever, eczema, hives, mucus, and a life long itching of inner ears and throat. I also eliminated the years of stomach discomfort and IBS and found peace within my life and my body, which enabled me to fall pregnant. YAY!

What is your passion and can you share some loving words of advice…………

The pay off for investing in your health and well-being is priceless. I feel it is now my mission to inspire meaningful transformation for women who want to live extraordinarily in all aspects of their lives, as they prepare their minds and bodies for pregnancy and continue to live the life of their dreams well into motherhood and beyond.

Method:
Place all ingredients in a powerful blender and blitz until creamy consistency is achieved, will make roughly 500 ml smoothie.
